Celtic Heritage -- England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales
Description
A recital of the traditional music of the British Isles, sung in both the original language and translation.
The Celtic Nation 1000 B.C. was more extensive than the Roman Empire at its zenith. It was Bellicose in its dealings
with other peoples of Europe, and in the fourth century B.C. the Celts invaded Rome conquering it and remaining in
power for over 40 years. The Romans never forgave this act and sought revenge giving Caesar authorization to drive the
Celts out of Gaul. By deception he slaughtered over a million and weakened the Celtic Nation irrevocably.
As Roman power increased the Celts were pushed into Scotland and into Galicia which was part of the Iberian Peninsula.
During its height of power the Celts developed arts and metallurgy. They also gave women a status of equality advanced
for its time in Europe.
There are discoveries of the Celtic Heritage spread throughout Europe proving how extensive they had advanced. They had
invented the spoked wheel and the seamless iron rim for chariots.
This is a two-hour presentation, which can be adjusted to meet the scheduling needs of the community.
The full recital is also available on a triple-volume set of compact discs. For more information about ordering, please see the purchasing page.
